অতীতের দুটি ক্রমিক ঘটনার ক্ষেত্রে একটির আগে অন্যটি চলছিল এরূপ বোঝাতে চলমান কাজটি Past Perfect Continuous Tense-এ হয়। অন্যটি হয় Past Indefinite Tense-এ ।
Structure: S + had been + V+ Ing+ Ext.
Hakim had been looking for a new room-mate before he finally succeeded.
